Jim Huang, CFA, CPA, CGA, President and Portfolio Manager

Mr. Huang has over 20 years of investment experience. Having started his career in Calgary as a brokerage research associate, Jim returned to Toronto to become a buy side investment analyst and over the years progressed to be a highly successful portfolio manager. Most recently he was with Natcan investment Management Inc. and its predecessor Altamira Management Ltd.

Jim has developed strong relationships in the Canadian oil patch from the beginning of his career. As lead or co-manager, Jim has managed over $2 billon in mutual funds and institutional assets, including all of the resource and equity income products in the Altamira and National Bank mutual fund families. In particular, Altamira Energy Fund, Altamira Resource Fund, Altamira Precious and Strategic Metals Fund and AltaFund (a Canadian Equity fund focusing on Western Canada) had industry-leading performance and won awards and positive press coverage.

Jim holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and the Chartered Professional Accountant designations, and a Bachelor of Commerce (High Distinction) degree from the University of Toronto.
